Seized from the suspect, Luis, 62, of Nagtipunan, Quirino, was 60 freshly sawn narra lumber.
The suspect’s companion and driver of a black Toyota Hi-Ace where the contraband was loaded managed to escape.
The vehicle was registered under the name of Oliver Pulkelero Oliva from Shilan, La Trinidad, Benguet.
These hot lumbers were immediately reported to the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office and Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office.
Luis was taken to the Alfonso Castaneda Police Station for proper disposition and documentation.
Police Col. Camlon Nasdoman, police provincial director, commended the Alfonso Castañeda police for protecting and preserving the environment.
