Boy drowns in Bacolod stream

BACOLOD CITY – An 11-year-old boy drowned in a stream in Purok Seawall, Barangay Punta Taytay here on Tuesday, January 23.

Police Capt. Michael Tuburan, head of Police Station 9, said the victim, a resident of Barangay Tangub here, went to the stream with his two friends to play and decided later to swim. 

However, after several minutes, his two minor companions noticed him unconscious and sought help.

Rescuers took the victim to the hospital where he was declared dead.

The victim was last seen alive by his auntie at around 9:30 a.m. as he would usually leave their house without permission.
