ASEZ plants 100 bamboo seedlings in Bulacan


The Save the Earth from A to Z (ASEZ) volunteer organization planted 100 bamboo seedlings in Barangay Tugatog, City of Meycauayan in the province of Bulacan on Sunday, Jan. 28.
 

The environmental project, dubbed as "Mother Earth Tree Planting Activity 2024," aims to help end global warming, desertification, and the destruction of biodiversity.

Over 170 students including the ASEZ volunteers, Korean students, boy scouts and  students from Meycauyan braved the coolness of the early morning air while conducting bamboo tree planting in the place.  The barangay officials in the village also  supported the activity.

ASEZ's conducted the  "Mother Earth Tree Planting Activity 2024"  on Sunday, Jan. 28, in Barangay Tugatog, City of Meycauayan in the province of Bulacan wherein 100  bamboo seedlings were planted by more than 170 students. (Freddie C. Velez)

ASEZ of Quezon City-2nd Branch, Philippines headed by its representative Gaspar Hilarion Calumba II, is a World Mission Society Church of God International university student volunteer group which conducts volunteer services globally under the slogan, "Save the Earth from A to Z.l (beginning to end). "

Calumba said the tree planting in the City of Meycauyan is first time in Bulacan since they start conducting tree planting in the early 80's. 

Raffy Dimaculangan of National University, and Vanessa Arriega, media relations officer of theASEZ Quezon City said ASEZ strives to induce the participation of global citizens, rights-holders, and duty-bearers in addressing climate crisis.

One of ASEZ's main initiatives is the "Mother's Forest Tree Planting Activity" wherein every person is encouraged to plant a tree to end global warming, desertification, and the destruction of biodiversity. 

Calumba said at least 100 Bamboo seedlings were planted along the  river of Barangay Tugatog which could be sources of food and livelihood for village residents in the future.
