Septuagenarian, 3 others killed in Lucena fire

LUCENA CITY, Quezon – A family of four were killed in a fire that razed their house in Barangay 1 here on Friday, January 26.

Arson investigators identified the fatalities as Lolit Lubiano, 72; Juanito Hernando, 65, Jay Mark Hernando, 18, a student, and Mark Raniel, eight.

Investigation said the started at 3:45 am.

The victims were trapped inside and their remains were discovered by firemen during mopping-up operations.

Lubiano’s daughter sustained second degree burns from the fire and was taken to a hospital.

The fire reached second alarm and declared fire out at 6:26 a.m.

A total of 15 houses were damaged and damage to property was placed at P500,000.

Cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
