P7.1M worth of shabu seized, 2 nabbed in Caloocan buy-bust operation

Government anti-narcotics operatives seized on Saturday morning, Jan. 27, around P7,140,000 worth of shabu following the arrest of two drug suspects during a buy-bust operation in Caloocan City.
In an initial report, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said that Raquel Ducan Macmod, 33, and Abdulbasit Abdullatip Ali, 34, were nabbed at around 12:55 a.m. on Zapote Road corner Ilang Ilang St. after receiving information of their intended transaction.
Led by the PDEA Regional Office (RO)-National Capital Region (NCR) and Regional Special Enforcement Team (RSET), the operatives confiscated 10 knot-tied transparent plastic bags containing more or less 1,000 grams of suspected shabu and five heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets with more or less 50 grams of white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu.
The team also seized assorted identification cards, one analog phone and one white Toyota Vios during the early morning operation.
The operation was jointly carried out by the PDEA RO-NCR Northern District Office, Police Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG-NCR), National Capital Region Police Office-Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (NCRPO-RDEU) and Camarin Police Sub-station 10.
Macmod and Ali face charges for violation of Sections 5 of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
