The Muntinlupa City government will enter into an agreement with a rights organization to implement an advocacy to reduce cases of violence against women and children.
This after the Muntinlupa City Council approved Resolution 2024-049 authorizing Mayor Ruffy Biazon to enter into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Global Rights for Women (GRW), represented by Cheryl Thomas, founder and executive director, on the implementation of system advocacy to reduce the cases of violence against women and children.

According to the resolution, the GRW “is a non-government organization that provides legal reform and systems change support through a survivor-led coordinated community response that prioritizes equality and safety, in order to effectively end gender-based violence against women and girls.”
GRW has worked with 64 partner organizations in 27 countries since 2014.
The GRW “proposed the System Advocacy Learning Laboratory (SALL) where participants in the two (2) year learning cohort for women's program will participate in the training geared to address gender-based violence consisting, among others, of group gathering sessions, in-person meetings."
The city government has chosen representatives from the Gender and Development Office, Sagip ng Muntinlupa, City Health Office, Women and Children Protection Unit at the Ospital ng Muntinlupa (OSMUN) and the Women and Children Protection Desk of the Philippine National Police (PNP) to participate in the program until March 30, 2025.
