Over 800 applicants hired through Manila LGU job fairs at start of 2024
In just 26 days after 2024 started, the local government of Manila provided jobs to 881 job seekers, including senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWDs).

During her social media address, The Capital Report, on Friday, Jan. 26, Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan said that those employed were hired through all the job fairs that were conducted by the city from Jan. 1 to Jan. 26.
She said that 356 job seekers were hired on the spot and 135 were hired through the partner of LGU's recruitment office; while 274 were employed in Joyride Philippines, 21 senior citizens in Shakey's, 23 senior citizens in Jollibee, 28 PWDs in Shakey's and Jollibee, and 44 in the Government Internship Program (GIP) of the city.
The city government said 90 percent of those hired are Manilans and the other 10 percent are from other cities.
Meanwhile, Lacuna encouraged the public to attend the city's future mega job fairs to find a job that suits them.
She also announced that on Saturday, Jan. 27, a “Trabado-Hanap trabaho tuwing Sabado” will be conducted at Tondo High School in Tondo, Manila, which will open at 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
She said that interested applicants who will come must wear casual attire and bring at least 10 copies of their resume and their own ballpen.
