ILOILO CITY – This city is hosting the first-ever One Visayas Creative Expo coinciding with the celebration of the Dinagyang Festival this weekend.
The week-long event that ends on Sunday, January 28, brings together products, destinations, and festivals of the three regions in the Visayas at SM City Iloilo here.

The One Visayas Creative Expo 2024 is an offshoot of the Visayas Area Business Conference last year.
The Regional Development Councils (RDCs) of Western Visayas, Central Visayas, and Eastern Visayas took the initiative for the expo.
The three RDCs, which are regional counterparts of the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) in policy planning, have the support of the Visayas chapters of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI).
The One Visayas Creative Expo 2024 is also backed by the “Buy Local, Go Lokal” program of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) that promotes the micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the three regions.
"The challenge is for the RDC and the DTI to take the lead in providing bigger platforms for our products and promoting them internationally," said Bacolod City Mayor Alfredo “Albee” Benitez, the RDC chairman in Western Visayas.
“We would like to strengthen the collaboration of all three regions of the Visayas. This aims to be the starting point, but we intend to roadshow this in all the areas of the Visayas. So, Iloilo will take the initiative at this point,” said Jobert Peñaflorida, governor of the PCCI for Western Visayas.
