Gaffer gunned down in Quezon

TIAONG, Quezon – A 40-year-old gaffer was gunned down on Thursday afternoon, January 25, in Sitio Bugnao, Barangay Paiisa, this town.

Police identified the victim as Rico, a resident of Barangay Pulang Lupa, Mabini, Batangas.

Investigation said the victim was driving his motorcycle when an unidentified man on a motorcycle appeared and fired at the victim.

The victim died on the spot due to multiple bullet wounds and the suspect fled.

Probers found five fired cartridge cases for caliber .45 in the crime scene.

Police are reviewing closed-circuit television camera footages to identify the suspect.

A gaffer is an employee of a cockpit that places the gaff, a sharp object, on the legs of fighting cock for a cockfight.
