President Marcos has asked Filipinos to support the new MATATAG curriculum as it aims to provide a more progressive future for the youth.

Marcos said this as he graced the Basic Education Report (BER) 2024 in Pasay City on Thursday, Jan. 25.
In his speech, the President urged Filipinos to participate in transforming the country's education system as envisioned in the "Bagong Pilipinas" campaign, which promotes a modern, vibrant, and peaceful Philippines.
He said the envisioned "Bagong Pilipinas" will only be achieved if everyone will help transform the education system for the sake of Filipino children.
"I thus call on everyone to join us in this daunting but extremely rewarding endeavor under Bagong Pilipinas, marked by a MATATAG education system that paves the way for a more empowered, secure, and progressive future," Marcos said.
The BER 2024 aims to present the accomplishments of the DepEd under the MATATAG Agenda and plans and initiatives to deliver quality, accessible, equitable, and inclusive basic education for all Filipino learners.
President Marcos said the BER is an "annual ritual" that improves the country's education system, finds feats worth celebrating, and identifies flaws that must be corrected.
"I'm happy to note that this report, the Basic Education Report, is candid, clear, comprehensive, and I think you will agree, quite compelling," he said.
He likewise assured Filipinos that the government would continue supporting DepEd's "remedial initiatives," like the learning camps, to ensure no one was left behind.
The Chief Executive also underscored the need to assess the country's education system, including continually upskilling and training teachers and making classrooms more disaster-resilient.
Meanwhile, President Marcos lauded Vice President and DepEd Secretary Sara Duterte for leading the DepEd.
"Certainly, the milestones achieved so far deserve our congratulations. Daghang salamat (Thank you), Inday Sara, your stewardship to the biggest agency with the largest constituency and, I would say, the most difficult mandate," he said.
