This capsule collection is rebellious and dark

The long wait is over! The DC x Slayer collection has officially launched in the Philippines and will soon be available in local DC stores nationwide.

This highly-anticipated collection is composed of footwear, tees, long sleeves, and bucket hats, reflecting the American thrash metal band’s edgy and rebellious vibe. Dark and edgy, the collaboration is filled with designs and icons related to Slayer, such as its timeless crimson logo and the skull from their studio album “Seasons in the Abyss.”

In a conversation with Manila Bulletin Lifestyle, Jan Marron Villapando, DC Shoes' marketing supervisor, said that despite a logistical challenge in bringing the collection here in the Philippines, the fans' interest and enthusiasm are truly evident.

“This collection has its own niche market,” he said. “It channels the Slayer’s four decades of rebellious soundtracks. The pieces reflect their songs, albums, and tours. Pre-orders target had already been sold out in just five days.”

He mentioned that this collection “is a match made from hell” because of DC and Slayer's rebellious spirits. “DC’s design principle is about defying conventions and challenging authority and it’s the same with Slayer’s music,” he added.

DC x Slayer capsule collection is a limited-time collection. As of writing, the public pre-order on the website will open on Jan. 31, 2024, and the collection will be available in stores on Feb. 10, 2024.

“There will be five shoe designs available—the manual slip shoes, manteca, pure, manual high, and then the net,” Marron said. “There will also be accessories to watch out for.”
