K-pop girl group NewJeans to receive 2024 Billboard Women in Music award

K-pop girl group NewJeans will receive the Group of the Year award at the 2024 Billboard Women in Music Awards. 

Tracee Ellis Ross will host the 2024 Billboard Women in Music Awards, which will be held on  March 6 at YouTube Theater in Inglewood, California.

NewJeans will receive the Group of the Year award at the 2024 Billboard Women in Music Awards (Billboard, X)

“The annual event features musical performances and honors women powerhouses who are shaping the music landscape,” according to Billboard. 

According to the awards website, “Each year Billboard’s Women in Music event recognizes music’s rising artists, creators, producers and executives for their contributions to the industry and community.”

Billboard said this year’s winners are:

Kylie Minogue (Australia) - Icon 

Charli XCX (England) - Powerhouse 

NewJeans (South Korea) - Group of the Year

Tems (Nigeria) - Breakthrough 

Luisa Sonza (Brazil) - Global Force 

Young Miko (Puerto Rico) - Impact Award 

Maren Morris (US) - Visionary

Ice Spice (US) - Hitmaker 

Victoria Monét (US) - Rising Star 

NewJeans debuted in 2022 in ADOR, a label under HYBE, the parent company of BTS, Seventeen, ENHYPEN and TXT.

“We could not be more excited to celebrate these inspiring and dynamic artists from around the world, as they move our culture forward and inspire women everywhere to push boundaries and pursue their own dreams,” Billboard’s editorial director, Hannah Karp, said. “With the talented Tracee Ellis Ross as our host, this year’s Billboard Women in Music Awards will be an unforgettable evening.”
