According to the agency’s price monitoring data as of Thursday, Jan. 25, the cheapest rice in the metropolis is Local Well-Milled which retails for P49 to P55 per kilo.

The DA said Local Regular Milled—whose retail price ranges from P50 to P53 per kilogram—is the second-cheapest variety of rice in Metro Manila.

The priciest rice in Metro Manila is Local Special which is retailed for P54 to P68 a kilo, the agriculture department’s data showed.

Imported Regular Milled, meanwhile, remains “not available” as there is still no stock available or sold in the market.

The data of the agency also revealed that Imported Regular Milled rice is only available in six markets in the metropolis. It is only available at the markets of Bicutan, La Huerta, Malabon, Navotas Agora, New Marulas, and Trabajo.

Imported Regular Milled rice is sold for P50 to P55 per kilo.
