3 dead, 26 hurt in Bataan road accident


CAMP CIRILO S. TOLENTINO, Balanga City, Bataan – Three persons were killed and 26 were injured in a multiple collision triggered by a bus on the Olongapo-Gapan Road in Barangay Bangal, Dinalupihan, this province, on Wednesday, January 24.

THREE persons were killed in a road accident triggered by a passenger bus in Bataan on January 24.

Police said the incident occurred at 7:30 p.m.

Initial investigation said the bus lost its brakes and rammed five vehicles, a jitney, three motorcycles, and an L-300 van.

Twenty-nine persons were taken to the James Gordon Memorial Hospital in Olongapo City, Zambales and Dinalupihan District Hospital.

However, three victims were declared dead on arrival in the hospital – Camille Isidro, 25, and two unidentified males. 

Police said the bus driver faces charges for reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicide, multiple physical injuries, and damage to properties.

Police Col. Palmer Tria, Bataan police chief, condoled to with the families of the fatalities.

Tria urged motorist to be more cautious and responsible while driving.
