Valenzuela gov't to hold medical mission for residents
The Valenzuela City government has announced that it will conduct a medical mission with optical, dental, and family planning services for city residents on Saturday, Jan. 27.
The activity will be held at the Sentro ng Sama-samang Serbisyo (3S ) Center in Barangay Bagbaguin from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
According to the local government, the medical mission will offer laboratory examinations, including fasting blood sugar (FBS), cholesterol, urinalysis, triglycerides, complete blood count (CBC), uric acid, and platelet count tests.
It will also have eye check-up, free eyeglasses for residents 36 years old and above, and cataract screening for 50 years old and up, dental check-up, flouride gel application for six to twelve year old kids, flouride varnish application for five years old and below, and tooth extraction services.
Couples may also undergo counseling for family planning while the city government will also distribute free contraceptives.
The local government reminded residents to wear facemask and observe social distancing when going to the venue to avoid the spread of Covid-19 as they are expecting a huge number of participants to avail the services.
Those who will take laboratory tests (FBS, cholesterol, and triglycerides) have to undero eight to 10 hours of fasting before the examination and to get a referral slip from their doctors.
The local government also said that it will also conduct free deworming for children one year old and above to ensure the good health of the minors in the city.
Parents were urged to bring their children to the nearest health centers in their area to avail the services.
