DAVAO City Rep. Paolo Duterte gifts his father a pack of 'polvoron' or powdered shortbread during a recent visit to his house in Davao City.

Rep. Duterte brought his father a pack of his favorite “polvoron,” a powdered shortbread of a famous brand, in their reunion.

A photograph of the elder Duterte eating polvoron went viral over social media. It started after an unverified video of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. allegedly using illegal drugs surfaced.

In a Facebook post, a netizen, Jun Abines, said there is nothing wrong with eating polvoron as long as the person swallows it with their mouth.

“But if you snort it through your nose, that’s different. That will ruin your future, life, family, and country,” he said.

“Now, can we see that video, please? We’d like to see how the sitting and incumbent President (Marcos) eats his polvoron?” Abines added.

Another netizen, Yayam Dizon, took to social media to defend Marcos. He said the Duterte clan is mocking the President out of the allegation that he is using “polvoron or illegal substances.”

Dizon said Vice President Sara Z. Duterte earlier gave polvoron to children in a video footage and then FPRRD eats polvoron. Lastly, Rep. Duterte gives their father a polvoron.

The elder Duterte, in his press conference two weeks ago, refuted the authenticity of the leaked video.

FPRRD said there is no such thing as a leaked video. He added that if there was a video, it would have come out a long time ago.
