MLBB Mid-Season Cup and the MLBB Women Invitational are set to be part of the very first Esports World Cup in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia slated July to August.
For the first time in MLBB Esports history, MSC, formerly MLBB Southeast Asia Cup, is venturing out of the SEA region with a whopping $3,000,000 prize pool – the largest in the title’s competitive esports history.
MLBB was the first esports title to be unveiled in the global showpiece that is expected to be joined by top teams across 4 international regions and over 35 countries.
The Wild Card format that was first introduced during the M5 World Championships will also be conducted with one slot allotted to the top team in the phase.
As usual, two slots are reserved for MPL regions Philippines, Indonesia, and MENA while one each for LATAM, Malaysia, Singapore and Cambodia.
For the first time, China will automatically be part of the main draw with the CN qualifier winner taking one slot along with fellow champions in the Myanmar qualifier, NACT 2024 Spring Fall, MLBB Continental Championships in Europe and MLBB Turkiye Championship.
MWI 2024, on the other hand, also features an expanded prize pool of $500,000 and 12 participating countries.
The tournament will feature 12 participating regions and countries from Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia & Singapore, China, the Middle East and North Africa, Eastern Europe and Central Asia, the Mekong Region (Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam), Brazil, and North America.
"This collaboration marks a new chapter for Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Esports and the global esports ecosystem," stated Ray Ng, Head of Esports Ecosystem, MOONTON Games.
"We are thrilled to partner with the Esports World Cup Foundation and go beyond our horizons to Riyadh. Alongside teams from new participating regions, this year's iteration presents boundless opportunities for more regions to participate, in line with our vision to expand MSC and MWI to foster greater diversity and inclusiveness,” he added.
