Kevin Quiambao continued to flex his fine form after steering Strong Group to a 95-73 romp of Sports Club Beirut in the 2023 Dubai International Basketball Championship on Wednesday morning, Jan. 24, at the Al Nasr Club.

With UAE teams showing interest in acquiring him as an import, the reigning UAAP MVP continued to put a hefty price to his services, delivering 20 points on another efficient 7-of-14 shooting that went with four rebounds in yet another Strong Group beatdown of a Lebanese team.

If the 6-foot-5 big man was coming up with brilliant records in the collegiate scene which propelled him to the top as one of the most decorated student-athletes in his sophomore year, Quiambao has been playing meaningful basketball in the pro tournament among the Philippine squad’s veteran rotation.

Alongside former NBA star Dwight Howard as the team’s reinforcement, Quiambao has been a key factor in Strong Group’s undefeated campaign in four games.

The Charles Tiu-squad is now looking to sweep the Group B fixtures against its last assignment in Libya’s Al Ahli Tripoli to determine who will emerge on top as the only unbeaten squad heading into the quarterfinal round on Thursday, Jan. 25, at 1:15 a.m. (Manila time).

Likewise, Lebanon’s Al Riyadi, which defeated the Philippine squad in Quiambao’s maiden stint last year, tops the Group A standings with a similar record of four wins.

Playing in his fittest, finest form yet, it’s not the first time that the 22-year-old Quiambao hinted a possible overseas stint as he was mulling over his next career move after towing De La Salle to its 10th championship last year.

Although Quiambao has opted to stay with the school for at least one more year to prioritize earning his degree, his talent has been on full display for overseas opportunities to come landing on his feet.
