Cops net P1.3-M shabu, marijuana


BUTUAN CITY – Police seized suspected shabu and marijuana worth more than P1.3 million in buy-bust operations under the  Simultaneous Anti-Criminality and Law Enforcement Operations (SACLEO) in the Caraga region from January 12 to 18.

Police Regional Office 13-Regional Public Information Office chief Police Major Jennifer S. Ometer said 57 drug suspects were arrested and 193.871 grams of shabu and 10 grams of marijuana worth P1,319,522.80 were recovered.

Two suspects were collared on Tuesday, January 16, in Barangay Poblacion, Santa Josefa, Agusan del Sur and recovered from them were five heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing 33 grams of shabu worth P224,400 and drug paraphernalia.

The PRO 13-Regional Intelligence Division (RID) nabbed six drug pushers and confiscated 11 grams of shabu valued at P74,800.

Nineteen suspects 19 were classified as high-value individuals (HVIs) and 38 were street-level individuals (SLIs).

The Butuan City Police Office (BCPO) bagged 86.04 grams of shabu worth P585,072, followed by the provinces of Agusan with 63.27 grams valued at P430,242.80, and Surigao provinces with 39.8 grams worth P270,640.

PRO-13 Director Police Brig. Gen. Kirby John B. Kraft vowed sustained anti-illegal drug operations in Caraga. “We will never allow substance abuse to destroy countless lives and families not just in Caraga but also in other parts of the country,” Kraft said.
