2 sexagenarians knifed dead in Pangasinan

SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union – Two sexagenarians were stabbed dead by their friend in Sitio Aludig, Barangay Poblacion, Burgos, Pangasinan on Monday, January 22.

Police Major Conrado Norial, Burgos chief of police, identified the victims as Renato Nacional Nagal, 62, and Pedro Meneses Ritoya Jr., 60, residents of Barangay Poblacion, Burgos.

Investigation said the victims and the suspect, Ronnie Sagun Rivera, were having snacks after they helping in the construction of a house.

The suspect left and suddenly stabbed the victims for no apparent reason when he returned.

Rivera fled and the victims were taken to the hospital but died on the way.

Police arrested the suspect in a hot-pursuit operation in Barangay San Vicente, Burgos, with the help of residents and local officials.

Rivera is facing appropriate charges.
