In a statement released to the media, the PDRRMC convened upon the request of Gov. Niño Uy following the Rapid Disaster Assessment and Needs Assessment from January 21 to 22.

The recommendation is set to be submitted before the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (provincial board) for approval on Wednesday.

Uy is hoping that the legislative body would expedite the endorsement to enable the provincial government to begin rehabilitation efforts.

The PDRRMC added that continuous rains from the shear line have affected 63,377 families across the province with an estimated damage of P111 million to agriculture and P1.7 million to livestock.

The local government units of Caraga, Tarragona, Cateel, Gov.  Generoso, and Lupon have placed their towns in a state of calamity.

Heavy rains from the shear line triggered landslides in mountainous areas in the province and left several road networks impassable.

The weather system also destroyed bridges in the towns of Caraga, Gov. Generoso, and Tarragona.
