Marcos on VP Sara's future political plan: She's testing the waters

President Marcos sees Vice President Sara Duterte's move to announce her plan to run in the next election as a way to test the waters over her future political plans.

"I think she's also testing the waters to see what the reaction will be," Marcos said in a 24 Oras interview on Tuesday, Jan. 23.

The President, however, did not make further statements as he bared that he had not talked with the Vice President about it.

"I haven't talked to her about it," he said and stressed that whatever plans Duterte has, they will just "talk about it later."

"Ang pinakaano e, 'did you hear that Inday Sara announced?' Yes, okay that’s it. Wala nang ano dun. 'What do you think she will do?' Oh ayan na, stop it stop it, we’ll talk about that later," the Chief Executive added.

Marcos and Duterte were running mates in the 2022 elections.

Duterte has declared that she will vie for a government position again in the next election. She, however, did not specify what position she would be aiming for.
