Man suffering from mental health issue knifed dead by step pa
TACLOBAN CITY – A 38-year-old man allegedly suffering from mental illness was stabbed to death by his stepfather after he threatened to kill him and his mother in Sitio Macarupi, Barangay Libertad, Kananga, Leyte, on Monday, January 22.

Police said the victim, Dolfo, was eating breakfast with the suspect Drigo, 66, and his mother when Dolfo suddenly went wild and scattered food on the ground.
Dolfo hit the suspect with a ceramic mug on his head and was injured.
His mother tried to pacify him but she was pushed by her son and threatened to kill them.
Dolfo ran to his house to get a large Swiss army knife and returned to the couple's house.
However, the suspect, armed with a 12-inch bladed weapon, was waiting outside his house and stabbed the victim several times.
Dolfo died on the spot and Drigo surrendered to responding policemen. He turned in the murder weapon.
The victim was taken to the Kananga Municipal Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
Suspect is under the custody of the Kananga Municipal Police Station for proper disposition.
