Cordillera lawmen net 55 wanted persons


LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Police arrested 55 wanted individuals during a week-long manhunt operation in the Cordillera from January 14 to 20.

The Police Regional Office Cordillera-Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division said the Baguio City Police Office nabbed 18 wanted persons, the Benguet Police Provincial Office, 15; Abra PPO, eight; Ifugao and Mountain Province PPO, four each, and Apayao PPO and Kalinga PPO, three arrests each.

Ten individuals were listed as most wanted persons – two on the regional level, six on the provincial level, and two on the station level.

Sixty-two municipalities in the region and one police station in Baguio City recorded zero crime incidents during the week as a result of the intensified police presence.

No crimes were logged in 22 municipalities in Abra, five in Apayao, nine in Benguet, six in Kalinga, and 10 municipalities each in Mountain Province and Ifugao.

In Baguio City, the Loakan police station logged no crime incidents, out of the 10 police stations in the city.
