At least nine houses were gutted by a fire that hit a residential area in Malabon early morning on Tuesday, Jan. 23.

According to the Malabon City Fire Station, the blaze started at about 3:58 a.m. on Santol St. 1 McArthur Hi-way, Barangay Potrero.

The fire was elevated to the second alarm at about 4:12 a.m.
It was declared under control at 4:42 a.m. and was extinguished at about 4:45 a.m.
Malabon City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office Head Roderick Tongol said the number of families affected during the incident is still being verified by the authorities.
No one was reported hurt during the incident.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
