A 35-year-old Chinese businesswoman was rescued from four men who tried to kidnap her by members of the Pasay City police Substation-1 on Monday, Jan. 22.
Col. Mario Mayames, Pasay City police chief, reported to the Southern Police District (SPD) the arrest of the four suspects identified as alias Joe, 43; Jhing, 27; John, 25; and Arn-arn, 47.
Mayames said the victim was identified as Dana, 35.
He said the incident happened at around 7:30 a.m. along Roxas Boulevard, Barangay 6, Pasay City.
Reports showed that members of the Pasay City police Substation-1 were conducting a routine patrol when they noticed a commotion along the area.
The police saw a woman being dragged out of her white BMW sedan by four men.
He said the four suspects, seeing the presence of policemen, tried to escape on board their car, a black Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, but were arrested.
The police chief said that during a search by responding policemen, they recovered one .38 paltik revolver with five live ammunition, three open small plastic sachet containing traces of shabu, one foil strip, two knives, three handheld radio, duct tape and a hammer.
Mayames said the four suspects were immediately arrested and detained at the Pasay police headquarters.
