Police Capt. Melvin Mercado, head of Police Station 8, said Danilo was driving a motorized tricycle with his wife, Cindy, 30, and her sister and her two-year-old nephew as passengers when two persons on a motorcycle appeared shot them.
Cindy’s sister and her son were able to jump out of the tricycle and were unharmed.
Danilo sustained multiple bullet wounds and died on the spot while his wife was wounded in the neck and back and taken to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) here.
Mercado said the gunmen tailed the couple and targeted them while they were approaching a dimly-lit area on their way home.
Recovered from the crime scene were fired bullets and slugs of a .45 caliber firearm.
Two days prior to the shooting, Mercado said the children figured in a misunderstanding but they could not elaborate what caused the conflict.
Mercado said that a tracker team has been deployed against the suspects.
