The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Monday, Jan. 22, said the northeast monsoon, locally known as "amihan," may continue to bring light rains to Luzon in the next 24 hours.

In PAGASA's 4 a.m. live broadcast, weather specialist Obet Badrina said the surge of amihan may strengthen in the following days and will prevail in Visayas.
PAGASA said Apayao, Batanes, and Cagayan including Babuyan Islands will have cloudy skies with light rains due to amihan.
In Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Central Luzon, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon, the rest of Cagayan Valley, and Cordillera Administrative Region, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains may prevail also due to amihan.
Meanwhile, the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers caused by the localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA said flash floods or landslides may occur in the affected areas during severe thunderstorms.
