CITY OF SANTO TOMAS, Batangas – A 44-year-old businesswoman was shot dead and her companion was wounded by riding-in-tandem gunmen on Friday afternoon, January 19, in Barangay San Roque, this city.
Police identified the victim as Jennifer Amante, a resident of Barangay San Juan here.
Investigation said Amante and her back rider, Arlene Manzanilla, 43, of Barangay San Vicente, this city, were traversing a barangay road onboard a motorcycle when the suspects riding a motorcycle appeared.
The back rider drew a gun and shot Amante who died on the spot and Manzanilla sustained bullet wounds and taken to a hospital.
The driver was wearing a black jacket, pants, and black helmet, and the back rider was clad in a gravy jacket, pants, and black helmet.
They fled in an unknown direction.
Three fired caliber .45 slugs and four caliber .45 cartridge cases were found in the crime scene.
Suspects face murder and frustrated murder charges.
Police are conducting follow-up investigation.
