42-year-old man nabbed for stalking 14-year-old girl in Naic

CAVITE – A 42-year-old man was arrested for stalking and making advances toward a 14-year-old girl in Naic on Sunday, Jan. 21.

Naic Municipal Police Station (MPS) chief Lt. Col. Chester Noel R. Borlongan said the suspect, a tricycle driver operating around the victim’s school, reportedly gave a two-page love letter to the victim, along with a cell phone and P200.

“Sa sulat, parang nagso-solicit ng pleasure itong suspect. At nakalagay din sa sulat 'yung plano, 'yung gagawin, na magche-check-in, punitin ang sulat pagkatapos basahin (In the letter, it seems like the suspect was soliciting pleasure. The letter also mentioned the plan, what they will do, that they will check in, and that she must tear up the letter after reading it),” Borlongan told the Manila Bulletin.

The suspect allegedly instructed the victim to use the cell phone to text him, spend the P200 for her fare, and meet him at a fast food restaurant.

“Inexplain niya din 'yung paghanga niya sa babae, na physically attracted siya 'dun sa babae… Then after one night na magsama sila, bibigyan daw siya nang P7,000 'nung lalaki (He also explained his admiration for the girl, that he is physically attracted to her... Then after spending one night together, the man supposedly promised to give her P7,000)."

The victim and her mother immediately sought help from the police, who then organized an entrapment operation, leading to the suspect’s arrest.

“May dala-dalang mga alak 'yung lalaki, so he thought na mako-consumate 'yung kanyang plano sa babae. Dinala namin sa police station, inadmit naman niya na kasalanan niya, humihingi siya nang sorry… Attracted daw siya sa babae (The man brought some alcohol, so he thought that his plan with the girl would be consummated. We took him to the police station, and he admitted his fault, asking for forgiveness... He said he was attracted to the girl)."

The suspect is now under the custody of Naic MPS and is facing charges for violating the Safe Spaces Act and the Special Protection of Children Against Child Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act.
