Gov. Erico Aristotle Aumentado handed over P100,000 each to the centenarians in another round of his town visitations.

Aumentado first visited Martina Gumop-as in Barangay Poblacion, Alicia town. The governor was  accompanied by Alicia Mayor Victoriano Torres III and Mita Tecson, head of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development (OPSWD) head.

Aumentado gave Gumop-as P100,000 cash and certificates from the Sangguniang Panlalawigan and Governor's Office.

The governor also visited four other centenarians – Maria Rosario Mangaron of Bayongan, San Miguel; Valentin Saga in Buenos Aires, Carmen; Gliceria Digamon in Poblacion Sur, Batuan, and Lamberto Laguitao in Bil-isan, Dimiao.

“It is our prayers that they will be given more years to be with their families,” Aumentado said.

The five centenarians had received P100,000 from the national government.

Dimiao Mayor Randolph Ang joined Aumentado during the distribution of cash assistance in the municipality.

The distribution of centenarian benefits is mandated under Provincial Ordinance 2022-003 or the  Bohol Centenarian Ordinance.

Aumentado suggested that cash assistance should already be given when a person turns 75-years-old to enable the recipient to enjoy the cash aid more.
