A Vietnamese was arrested by members of the Pasay City police Station Intelligence Section (SIS) who were conducting a security patrol on Dec. 31.
Col. Mario Mayames, Pasay city police chief, said the suspect, identified as Qnguyen, was arrested at around 4:30 p.m. along Shore I, Seaside Boulevard, Barangay 76, Zone 10, Pasay City.
Mayames said members of the SIS spotted the suspect tearing a transparent plastic bag containing coffee packs that accidentally fell on the ground.
He said one of the operatives approached to help Qnguyen in picking up the coffee pack.
However, the policemen noticed the suspect placing one sachet containing shabu into the opened coffee packs.
The SIS arrested the suspect and found in his possession 1.50 grams of shabu worth P10,200.
Mayames said that aside from shabu, the operatives were also able to recover from the suspect one plastic sachet containing one red unknown tablet, one glass tube pipe, and two medium-sized plastic sachets containing two disposable lighters.
He said Qnguyen was immediately brought and detained at the police custodial facility and was charged for illegal possession of drugs.
