Vehicle plows through concrete barriers in Mandaluyong

A multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) plowed through several concrete barriers of EDSA Busway on Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 2, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said.

According to authorities, a red Toyota Innova was cruising along EDSA-Boni southbound lane when its two left tires suddenly exploded.

The Innova's driver decided to smash into the concrete barriers to avoid hitting other motorists, earning the praise of the first responders. The driver is now in stable condition.

Due to the accident, the travel of buses along the carousel was temporarily suspended while the authorities are waiting for the vehicle to be towed.
