Guanzon gets backlash for posting selfie with Mocha Uson; says she's still a kakampink

A lot of kakampinks weren't thrilled after one of their own, P3PWD Party-list nominee Rowena Guanzon, decided to post a selfie with controversial vlogger Mocha Uson on X.

Guanzon uploaded the selfie on Tuesday, Jan. 2 along with the caption, "Happy New Year kasama rin natin si Mocha dito sa Tokyo.#p3pwd (Happy New Year we also have Mocha her in Tokyo)."

The backlash was almost instant, with @_rainbowfighter replying, "Ma’am Weng… optics is important. Mocha Uson is a fake news peddler. She has no morals."

"I am unfollowing @rowena_guanzon for having a screwed up set of principles," another X user in Wawam said.

Uson, a former showbiz personality who is known for her sexy roles, has long been identified as a diehard supporter of the Duterte family.

Noticing the angry comments triggered by her post, Guanzon told her followers, "Don't worry about people u dont like. I am a public figure, I should be inclusive. It's ok not to like them. They made an effort to greet us here in Tokyo. Respect lang pol (Please respect)."

The former Commission on Elections (Comelec) commissioner would later clarify in another X post Tuesday afternoon that she hasn't defected from the kakampinks' camp.

"Hindi po ako DDS . #kakampink ako. Pero Pilipino po ako dito sa Tokyo. Lahat ng Pilipinong gustong mag meet sa akin welcome po (I'm not DDS. I'm a kakampink. But I'm a Filipino here in Tokyo. All of the Filipinos are welcome to meet me)," she wrote.

But this explanation wasn't enough for some netizens.

"We get your point! Pero posting this on your social media po? Is a whole new different feel! Respeto lang din mo sa fellow kakampimk! (Please respect you fellow kakampink). Sorry i had to unfollow," said AJ Ibrahim.

Another X user , Marie Thess told Guanzon: "PALUSOT KA PA EH SIRA KANA SA MATA NG KAKAMPENKS HAKHAKHAKS (Enough alibis, you're ruined in the eyes of kakampinks)."

"Iisipin ng followers mo na ok lang ginawa ni Mocha kc ok lang naman pala sya sau (Your followers will think that Mocha's actions are OK since she's OK with you)," read @wanakopake's reply to the P3PWD Party-list nominee.

There were those who defended Guanzon for posting the picture with Uson.

"Akala ko nilisan niyo na kami sa himpapawid. Muntik na ako magtampo.😆 Buti pinaliwanag ninyo agad.🙂 ( I thought you left us hanging in the air. I was about to get upset. Good thing you explained immediately)," said Gringo R.

"Thank you for showing graciousness and civility," wrote A_Saint.

Jack di Ripper wrote: "We know you're kakampink. We're just so pissed with Mocha."
