Filipino-American player Jordan Clarkson reached a new career milestone after recording his first NBA triple-double in Utah's 127-90 rout of Dallas at Delta Center in Salt Lake City on Tuesday, Jan. 2 (Manila time).
The former Gilas standout fired 20 points that went with 10 rebounds and 11 assists, a feat that ended a long wait of 1,256 games of the Jazz and for his first triple-double since entering the league in 2014 with the Los Angeles Lakers.
It was also the first time since 2008 that a Jazz player achieved the feat when Carlos Boozer registered 22 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists against the Seattle Supersonics.
The 31-year-old cager also became the first player to come off the bench and reach the mark since Mark Eaton's 12 points, 14 rebounds and 12 blocks in 1983.
Italy’s Simone Fontecchio provided support for Utah with 24 points and six rebounds while Finland’s Lauri Markkanen had 17 points as the Jazz improved to a 15-19 card at 12th place in the Western Conference standings.
Clarkson won the NBA's Sixth Man of the Year in 2021 and recently bannered Gilas Pilipinas in the 2023 FIBA World Cup.
