Television host and businesswoman Cristina Decena has renewed plans to produce a television program entitled "Weddings Around the World."

Cristina is expected to collaborate with social media personality Cong TV in this upcoming television project.

“It so happened na naging kaibigan ko si Cong TV. Nakabili sa akin ng dalawang bahay si Cong tapos yung mga kapatid naman niya nagtabi-tabi sila sa isang compound ng mga Decena na ngayon compound na nila Cong TV," said Cristina in a recent interview during her birthday celebration in Makati City.

(It so happened that Cong TV became my friend. Cong bought two houses from me and then his siblings lived side by side in a Decena compound that is now Cong TV's compound.)

Cristina also said Cong and his girlfriend, social media personality Viy Cortez, are getting married soon.

“Kinausap ko sila na gusto ko sanang gawin ulit yung Weddings Around The World. Sana sila naman ang groom at tsaka bride.

(I told them that I would like to do Weddings Around The World again. I hope they are the groom and also the bride.)

“Parang interesado naman. Sisimulan muna sa Pilipinas yung kasal nila, tapos sabi ko, ‘Sige punta tayo sa iba’t-ibang panig ng mundo. Cong kung gusto mong maging co-producer okay lang, may sarili akong sponsor may sarili kang sponsor. Pagsamahin natin," Cristina also said.

(He seems interested. Their wedding will start in the Philippines, then I said, 'Let's go to different parts of the world. Cong, if you want to be a co-producer, it's okay. I have my sponsor, and you have your sponsor. I'd like to get together.)

At first, Cristina admitted that she was not aware of Cong. She was curious about who Cong TV was. What she did was she watched his vlogs. "When I watched him, he was also funny."

Cristina was even surprised that Cong TV took a long time to get to her office because so many people were taking pictures of him in the lobby.

“Iyon pala ganun siya kasikat,” she said. "Meron siyang 12 million subscribers." (That's how popular he is. He has 12 million subscribers.)

That's where it started, so he considered putting Cong TV and Viy on "Weddings Around The World."

“Tapos nakita ko, sobrang ganda ng puso ni Cong. Kasi nag-inquire siya sa akin, ‘Tita puwede ba akong mag-inquire sa flying school ng anak mo?’

"Then Cong's heart is beautiful. He inquired, 'Auntie, can I inquire about your son's flying school?'

“Kasi may flying school yung anak ko. ‘Sabi ko, ‘Bakit anak, magpipiloto ka?’ Sabi niya, ‘Hindi Tita, gusto kong pag-aralin yung aking P.A. [personal assistant].’

(Because my son has a flying school. 'I said, 'Do you want to be a pilot? He said, 'No, I want to enroll my assistant).

“Sabi ko, ano’ng relasyon mo sa kanya?’ Sabi niya, ‘Basta lagi ko lang siyang kasa-kasama, pangarap niyang maging piloto.’ Sabi ko sa kanya, ‘Mabait kang bata kaya pinagpapala ka!" Cristina also said.

(I said, what's your relationship with him?' He said, 'He's always with me. He dreams of becoming a pilot.' I said to him, 'You're a kind person. That's why you are blessed!)

"Weddings Around The World" was originally developed and conceptualized by Cristina and her ex-husband Ariel Villasanta.

Cristina said she would ask permission from Ariel to do the reality wedding show once again. But she would also invite Ariel to be part of the program.

"Nagandahan siya sa ideya," said Cristina, when asked about Cong's reaction to her proposal. (He liked the idea)

Cristina said production for the reality show would start early this year if plans do not miscarry.

Asked about her secret to looking young at the age of 61, Cristina said: "Clean-living, di ba nag-e-exercise ako, nagte-treadmill ako gabi-gabi, tapos yung masaya lang ako dahil lahat ng mga anak ko puro mga successful.

(Clean-living. I exercise, I hit the treadmill every night, and then I'm just happy because all my children are successful.)

“At tsaka yung pag-alis ko sa opisina hindi na kamukha noong dati na binibitbit ko lahat yung mga hindi ko natapos na trabaho.

(Also, when I leave the office, it doesn't look like it used to when I was carrying all my unfinished work.)

“Tapos magtatrabaho pa ako sa bahay. Ngayon hindi, pag tapos, tapos na, bukas na ulit. Pag nasa bahay habang nagte-treadmill nanonood ako ng mga teleserye.”

(Then I will work at home. Not now. When it's over, it's over. I'll work again the next day. When I'm at home while I'm on the treadmill I watch TV series.)

Since her children have finished school, Cristina is focused on helping the children and grandchildren of her staff go to school.

“Kasi iniisip ko binigyan ako ng Panginoong Diyos ng lahat ng ito, di ba…  wala kaming pera noon nakapagtapos ako ng pag-aaral,  nag-graduate ako ng cum laude, naging government scholar ako, financial aid, bukod sa government scholar ako binibigyan ako ng suweldo kasi sumusulat ako sa diyaryo, naging literary editor ako ng 'The New Businessman' sa PUP," she said.

(The Lord God gave me all this, didn't he...we didn't have any money then, I finished my education, I graduated cum laude, I became a government scholar, financial aid, apart from the government scholar, I was given I get a salary because I write for the newspaper, I became the literary editor of 'The New Businessman' in PUP.)

“Ang daming binigay sa akin na gantimpala. Humingi ako ng isang bahay napakaraming bahay ang ibinigay sa akin, sabi ko, ‘Tama na po, okay na po ako, Lord! Ang gusto ko na lang po, sana kung anuman ang meron ako maibalik ko sa tao,' " she said. “Lahat ng pinagdasal ko sa Panginoon ibinigay sa akin kaya gusto kong maibalik sa tao.”

(I was given a lot of rewards. I asked for a house and He gave me many houses. I said, 'That's enough, I'm fine, Lord! I hope that whatever I have I can give back to people. Everything I prayed to the Lord was given to me so I want to give it back to people.)

Cristina expressed her birthday wish after being content with her life.

"Sana bigyan pa ako ng mahaba pang energy, medyo mahaba pang panahon, para mas marami akong taong matulungan, mas maraming pamilya akong mapakain, mas marami akong batang mapag-aral. Iyon lang wish ko, good health, long life.”

(I hope to be given more energy and a little more time so that I can help more people, feed more families, and educate more children. That's all I wish for: good health and a long life.)

But Cristina has one more thing she wants to add to her bucket list: riding the MRT.

"Gusto kong makita yung mga sumasakay dun yung iba-ibang antas ng pamumuhay nila, kasi ang sumasakay dun merong may pera, merong wala, gustong makarating agad sa pupuntahan nila huwag matrapik."

(I want to see the people who ride there and their different lifestyles because those who ride there, some have money, and some don't. They want to get to where they're going right away and not get caught in traffic.)
