Cloudy, rainy in most of Luzon as 'amihan' intensifies — PAGASA
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Tuesday, Jan. 2 said more areas in Luzon may experience colder weather with some rains due to the intensification of the northeast monsoon, locally known as “amihan.”

PAGASA weather specialist Daniel James Villamil in a public weather forecast said the surge of amihan may last for the next three days.
Cloudy skies with light rains will be felt in Cagayan Valley, Aurora, and Quezon, while partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains are expected in Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Central Luzon.
PAGASA issued a warning to residents of Cagayan Valley, Aurora, and Quezon about the possibility of flash floods or landslides during periods of moderate to heavy rain.
Meanwhile, Villamil said the easterlies, or the warm winds from the Pacific Ocean, will continue to bring scattered rain showers to Mindanao.
PAGASA warned of the risks of flash floods or landslides caused by moderate to heavy rains in the affected areas.
The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
The public is also warned to be on alert for flash floods or landslides that may occur during severe thunderstorms.
