Construction worker killed on New Year's Day

CALAMBA CITY, Laguna – A 41-year-old construction worker was shot dead in Sitio Ilaya, Purok 7, Barangay Parian, this city, on New Year’s Day.

Police said the victim, Christopher Cabales, single, and a resident of Sitio Ilaya, was crossing a bridge on the railroad when a man appeared and shot the victim in the body.

Cabales died on the spot.

The suspect fled on foot towards the barangay service road.

Police are pursuing the suspect.
