900 vendors temporarily leave Quiapo area for Traslacion 2024
Around 900 vendors will be temporarily removed from the vicinity of Quiapo Church in preparation for the upcoming Traslacion 2024, the procession of the Black Nazarene on Jan. 9.
The Manila Police District (MPD) said they will conduct a clearing operation on Tuesday evening, Jan. 2, after they conducted an inspection around the church.
Police said that vendors along Carriedo Street, a portion of Plaza Miranda, and a portion of Evangelista Street to Gonzalo Puyat Street will be temporarily removed for the blessing and procession of Black Nazarene replicas that will be held tomorrow, Jan. 3, until Jan. 4.
Meanwhile, on Jan. 7, they said a total clearing operation will be conducted in the whole area of Quiapo Church.
Police said vendors are not allowed around the church until the end of the feast. They can return to their vending places on Jan. 10.
Authorities called on all vendors to cooperate and follow the enforced rules to make the area clean for the celebration.
They added that they will confiscate all the products of the vendors who will not comply with the order.
