
A total of P31.07 billion worth of illegal drugs was confiscated by authorities under the anti-illegal drug campaign of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) revealed on Friday, Jan. 19.
The PDEA released the latest results of the "Numbers of the National Anti-Drug Campaign" which showed that a total of 4,212.24 kilograms (kgs) of shabu, 48.02 kgs of cocaine, 3,158.98 kgs of marijuana and 54,013 pieces of ecstasy amounting to P31.07 billion were seized from July 2022 to December 2023.
During the said period, authorities conducted 55,495 anti-drug operations where 75,880 drug personalities were arrested, including 5,137 high-value targets.
The PDEA stated that 28,243 barangays were considered as "drug-cleared" due to the government’s intensified illegal drug campaign while 7,268 others remain "drug-affected".
Anti-narcotics authorities were also able to dismantle one laboratory and 822 drug dens during the same period.
