P5.6-M marijuana destroyed in Benguet, Kalinga


LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Police destroyed marijuana worth P5.6 million in a two-day eradication operation in Benguet and Kalinga from January 17 to 18.

A total of 27,170 marijuana plants, including three kilos of dried marijuana stalks, worth P5.674 million were uprooted and burned.

The Tinglayan Municipal Police Station in Kalinga discovered a 1,100-square meter lot with 10,000 
marijuana plants valued at P2 million in Barangay Butbut Proper, Tinglayan, Kalinga, on January 17.

The Benguet Provincial Police Office discovered three plantations in Sitio Mocgao, Barangay Badeo, Kibungan, Benguet, and uprooted 1,920 marijuana plants worth P264,000 on January 18.

In Sitio Bulalacao, Barangay Tacadang, Kibungan, 4,200 marijuana plants worth P840,000 were uprooted and burned while 3,250 marijuana plants valued at P650,000 were eradicated in Sitio Dinem-meg, Barangay Kayapa, Bakun, Benguet.

Seven thousand, eight-hundred marijuana plants valued at P1.9 million, including three kilos of dried marijuana, were found and destroyed by operatives in the forest of Sitio Saka-ang, Barangay Madaymen, Kibungan, on January 18.
