Marcos boosts PH hosting of Asian age group swimming competition
President Marcos urged all government offices and the private sector to support the 11th Asian Age Group Championship that will be hosted by the Philippines next month.

Marcos made the directive through Memorandum Circular No. 43 dated Jan. 17.
The President directed all government offices and instrumentalities, including government-owned or controlled corporations, and encouraged the private sector to extend support and necessary assistance for the successful hosting of the 11th Asian Age Group Championships.
“The hosting of said championship event in the Philippines will bring international prestige, publicity, goodwill, and economic benefits to the country,” said the memorandum signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin on Marcos' behalf.
It will be held from Feb. 26 to March 9 at the New Clark City Aquatics Center in Capas City, Tarlac. It will be hosted by the Philippine Aquatics, Inc. (PAI), the national sports association for aquatic sports in the Philippines.
There will be 44 Filipino swimmers– 22 boys and 22 girls – who will join the competition, according to PAI.
Around 1,400 swimmers from across Asia are expected to compete in the tournament.
The sports event is a highly anticipated and prestigious swimming competition, bringing together young swimmers from across Asia and showcasing the talent and potential of the region's emerging swimmers.
