Man shot dead by motorcycle-riding gunmen

ZAMBOANGA CITY – A 58-year-old man on his way home from a cockpit was shot dead by motorcycle-riding gunmen in Barangay Cabatangan, this city, on Thursday, January 18.

Police identified the victim as Noel Usiyas Alvarez.

Investigation said the victim stopped to buy fish from a roadside vendor on the Diversion Road and was about to board his vehicle when the gunmen appeared and killed him.

His vehicle sustained damage from the shooting. 

The gunmen fled toward the Cabatangan Diversion Road.

Police recovered two empty shells of a .45 caliber pistol in the area and are continuing their investigation.
