It will be a 680-kilometer run around Negros Island, with overnight stops in Sipalay City and Sagay City in Negros Occidental and Dumaguete City and Guihulngan City in Negros Oriental.

Espina will run, along with his crew, for five to six days, targeting to raise 2,000 euros or P122,000.

The event also encourages local runners and the Negros Island communities to support the seven-man team by running with them in a controlled pace.

Espina’s GoFundMe page has raised over 1,000 euros or P61,000 as of posting time.

“Your generosity is greatly appreciated and will be a great help to the children suffering from the ‘Big C,’” he said.

With Espina are local ultraboy Brekz Cabrillos and alternate runners as crew and drivers – Jan Christopher Chua, JC Fregil Chua, Neil Stephen Valenzuela, and Frunk Lin Echevaria, all from Bacolod City, and logistical support crew Christian James Togonon Alayon and Capt. Honey Labaro Choi George.

The crew will run Bacolod to Sipalay (165 kilometers), Sipalay to Dumaguete (175 kms), Dumaguete to Guihulngan (116 kms), Guihulngan to Sagay (115 kms), and Sagay to Bacolod City (85 kms).
