ILIGAN CITY – Another set of warring families settled their “rido” or clan war on January 17 at the headquarters of the 101st Infantry (Three Red Arrows) Brigade in Barangay Tabiawan, Isabela City, Basilan.

ANOTHER ‘rido’ was settled in Basilan.
The families of the late Nasser Asarul and the late Civilian Armed Forces Geographical Unit Active Auxiliary Basid Karim from Sumisip and Tabuan Lasa in Basilan agreed to document their desire to resolve their differences peacefully.
They sealed their agreement with handshakes, showing their commitment and willingness to renounce violence and concede to peace and reconciliation.
These were done in the presence of Basilan Gov. Jim Hataman-Salliman and Brig. Gen. Alvin V. Luzon, commander of the 101st Infantry Brigade, government officials, and media personalities.
Luzon reiterated the role of the security sector and their efforts to sustain peace and development in Basilan.
“We are steadfast in our role to ensure that peace and order is maintained. We, in the military, are being solution-focused for whatever it is to serve the Basileños,” he said.
Salliman advised warring parties and enlightened them on the future impact of their actions.
“We must embrace peace and reconciliation as we continue to make a difference in Basilan. Our actions today affect the future of our young generations,” he said.
The reconciliation was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the provincial government of Basilan, 101st Infantry Brigade, the 4th Special Forces Battalion, and the 64th Infantry Battalion.
