Following a successful All-Star Weekend that saw the Filipino-led Asian All-Stars slip past Rising Stars, 127-115, the Pinoy cagers continued to reinforce their respective club teams as the regular season of the Japanese league resumes.

Playing the most minutes, Ravena flirted with a triple-double performance of nine points, 13 rebounds and 12 assists to tow San-En NeoPhoenix past the hapless Toyama Grouses, 95-83.

American import Coty Clarke tallied a team-high 30 points as the NeoPhoenix improved in the standings with a 25-4 record just behind top seed Alvark Tokyo with a similar slate.

Meanwhile, Wright exploded for 24 points to carry the fight in Kyoto Hannaryz’s 81-75 win against the Nagasaki Verca.

Wright’s Hannaryz climbed to a 9-20 win-loss slate in the overall standings.

On the other hand, RJ Abarrientos contributed an all-around spread of 12 points, four rebounds and four assists in Shinshu’s balanced attack as the Brave Warriors frustrated Kai Sotto’s Yokohama B-Corsairs, 81-71.

Locals Eliet Donley and Kai Ishikawa had 13 and 12 markers, respectively, in the much-needed victory as Shinshu fought to stay alive in the standings with a 5-24 slate.

Filipino big man Sotto, for his part, had nine points and five rebounds on the losing end.

Asian All-Stars skipper Dwight Ramos made the most of his minutes matter after scoring nine points in Levanga Hokkaido’s convincing 84-66 victory over Ibaraki Robots.

Local guard Shuto Terazono and American import Darral Willis Jr. carried the offensive production for Hokkaido with 18 and 16 points, respectively.

Hokkaido is one victory away from the double-digit win column as it improved 9-20 in the standings.

Ray Parks Jr.’s Nagoya Dolphins squeaked past reigning champion Ryukyu Golden Kings, 77-75.

Parks Jr. had a measly four-point outing in the win, while Carl Tamayo, who debuted in the Japanese league with Ryukyu last year, announced his release from the club team on Thursday, Jan. 18.

The former UAAP standout shone brightly in his All-Star Weekend debut after leading the mostly Pinoy squad to its back-to-back victory over the Rising Stars with 18 points.
