Carnapping suspect nabbed in Las Piñas City

A 39-year-old man accused of carnapping was arrested by members of the Warrant and Subpoena Section (WSS) during the conduct of an anti-criminality campaign Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 17, in Las Piñas City.

Col. Jaime Santos, Las Piñas police chief, reported to the Southern Police District (SPD) the arrest of alias Rod, considered the Top 10 most wanted person under district level, and Top five under station level.

Santos said the suspect was arrested at around 4:30 p.m. in Barangay Talon Kuatro, Las Piñas City.

He said Rod was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Pia Cristina B. Bersamin Embuscado of Las Piñas Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 198.

Embusacdo issued the warrant for the arrest of Rod on Nov. 29, 2023 with bail recommended at P300,000.

The suspect was immediately detained at the police custodial facility following his arrest.
