PDEA nets 7 in Cebu City drug den raid


CEBU CITY – The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Central Visayas arrested seven persons, including an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW), during a raid of a suspected drug den in Barangay Duljo Fatima here on Tuesday afternoon, January 17.

The drug den was allegedly maintained by 48-year-old Odello Laresma, one of those arrested, said Leia Alcantara, spokesperson of the PDEA-7.

Also arrested were six drug den visitors – Princess Joyce Reyes, a 31-year-old OFW; Jerald Cañizares, 32; Ariel de Pio, 43; Ronelo Abatayo, 48; Erwin C. Siman, 33, and Liza Ladet Gumunit, 47.

Packs of suspected shabu with an estimated market value of P102,000 were seized during the raid.

Meanwhile, two live-in partners were also arrested in a separate buy-bust operation in Panglao, Bohol on Tuesday night.

Arrested were John Freed P. Mahusay, 25, and Geraldine C. Degamo, 33, flower shop owner.

Eight packs of suspected shabu worth P47,000 were seized from the suspects, Alcantara said.
