Men's fashion this year calls for subtle glamor and refined tailoring, according to this brand
Sabato De Sarno continues his 'Ancora' manifesto with his debut menswear line for Gucci
By John Legaspi
After presenting his debut collection for Gucci last September, Sabato De Sarno now showcases his menswear line that centers on his “Ancora” perspective. The Italian word for “again” can be defined as something personal, something you lost, or something you still have, as per the designer. But in the brand’s latest collection, “Ancora” translates as “a story of everything, again, but this time expressed through joy.”
The menswear collection mirrors the elements of Sabato’s womenswear spring-summer 2024 line for the brand. The newest line is all about subtle glamor, refined tailoring, and reimaginations of the classics. Present on the runway are floor-length coats, luxe suits, and relaxed trousers in gray, black, neutral, and oxblood hues. Adding another layer of chic and cool to its fashion presentations are the bomber jacket (special note on the chartreuse one), blinged tops, and fringed jackets.
Apart from the leather gloves, neck scarves, and horse-bit loafers, the most notable accessories gracing the runway are the reinterpretation of Gucci’s 1950s crescent-shaped bags, leather duffle bags, and the Jackie bags.
