Memorial park robber hacked dead

TAYABAS CITY, Quezon â€“ A robber caught in the act of carting away tools in a memorial park was hacked dead by a caretaker before dawn on Tuesday, January 16, in Barangay Mayuwi, this city.

A ROBBER was hacked dead after he was caught stealing tools in a memorial park in Tayabas City, Quezon on January 16.

Police said Heavens Garden Memorial Park caretaker Christian Gallo, 23, of Barangay Ilayang Iyam, Lucena City, was on duty looking after the construction of a mausoleum in the memorial park at around 2:40 a.m. when he saw five men stealing a speed cutter and mixer.

The fatality, was aged 40 to 45, wearing a T-shirt, and combat boots, shot Gallo in the head with an air gun but the suspect got a bolo and hacked the victim in the neck.

The fatality died on the spot and Gallo was taken to the hospital.

Gallo is under the custody of the Tayabas City police.
